c 1958 - My dad, Bob Saunders, on Ragged Rock.  Charlotte and Bob bought Ragged Rock and four acres around it in 1957 to block a developer's plan to fill in the marsh to make a road out to the river.  They later donated the land to the Nature Conservancy, which now owns the marsh.  The Connecticut River is the last (I believe) undeveloped river mouth on the east coast of the USA.
