From Florida I headed northwest, up through Georgia on the freeway. In a couple of spots, I passed through 100 yard swaths of broken trees, remnants of the tornados from a couple of days before. I had hoped to visit the space museum in Huntsville, but Alabama was pretty much closed down, no power anywhere thanks to the tornado destruction. Two days from Cape Canaveral I ended up here, Kenlake State Park in western Kentucky, getting near the flooding. In fact, this was the only camping around, all the rest were closed due to high water from the Mississippi. The night here was filled with lightning and thunder, but no winds or worse.
