May 2019: Cassia Crossbill Twitch

In the mood for a little Northwest camping trip, I headed out the day after Memorial Day (no crowds) hoping to tick a Cassia Crossbill in the South Hills of Idaho. These guys were just split from the rest of the Red Crossbills, and endemic in this small area south of Twin Falls, down near Nevada and Utah.  Camping along the way, I cruised through Washington and Idaho, listed the bird, crossed Nevada, and returned up through Oregon and Washington.
