The Cinque Terre
The next day we took a train a short ways down the coast to Framura for the morning hike to Bonassola, and then another train to Levanto. The trains seem to run about every hour and sure are an easy way to get around these parts. We had lunch in Levanto and Ben took us on a great historical tour of the town, and then back onto the trail to the start of the actual Cinque Terre region at Monterosso. Another great walk along a ridge high above the coast, with a spectacular view south to the five towns of the Cinque Terre, as the sun was getting low.
Perhaps a little fatigue was setting in: the next morning after breakfast Patti went up the stairs to our room (#10) to change her clothes. After undressing, she opened the closet to discover all our stuff was gone. In fact, the room was empty! After a little consternation, panic set in when she realized she was in room #4, on the floor below ours. The key seemed to work in all the doors! When would the real occupants return? Quickly dressing and clutching the TV remote, she exited hastily up to the right room.
