September 2010: New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont

Patti and I picked September for a trip back East to Randolph, in the White Mountains, when the weather would be cooler and bug-free (but before the best of the fall colors).  We also planned for a couple of days in New York City, plus a side trip to see my cousin Mary and Steve King at their new home in Vermont.  We shared the cottage with Kate and Ger for about a week at the end of their trip.  We were hoping for good hiking weather, but made the most of the few good days we ended up with.  Here's Mt. Madison finally peeking through the clouds.
