We had a hitch in our plans at Ollantaytambo. Originally we were going to spend the night in a lodge near there, and take the train to Machu Picchu the next morning. But a nationwide strike, including the railroads, was suddenly called for the next day. Through some quick thinking and hard work by Wilfredo, we were able to catch the last train to Machu Picchu that night, after waiting a couple hours at the station, and arrived at our new digs in Machu Picchu Pueblo at 2:00 am the next day.

Map of our route.
