The French part of our trip was mostly about relaxing and eating; we had six days to walk around Paris and take some train rides out into the country on our railpass. We wanted to see some of the things we had missed last time, such as the Louvre and a ride up the Eiffel Tower. Hiking in Spain was good preparation for our day at the Louvre, much fun but I was glad it was the last museum of the trip. Dad's theory of what makes a good painting was that it has to have some of the color red in it: goes to show that all those people jostling to see the Mona Lisa didn't know what they were doing, no red in that one.
