July 1998: Cross Country and Yellowstone

After a week of relaxing in Randolph, which was 1998 Summer Vacation, Phase 1, I drove Patti down to Boston where she caught a plane back to Seattle. There she met Joelene, and they hopped into our Toyota, already packed with Scott's stuff, and immediately started back east on Phase 2 of the vacation. After a 2+ day mad dash, Thelma and Louise (Patti and Joelene) made it to Kirksville, Missouri, where Scott and Joelene were to shortly start medical school. With Scott's stuff dropped off, Patti immediately turned the car around and headed for Kansas City. In the meantime, I had been left back in Randolph, doing some more hiking and a lot of work on the cottage. Having had enough of the good life, I finally jumped on a plane in Boston and flew to Kansas City, to meet Patti. Strange as it may seem, everything worked out, no missed connections, lost baggage, etc.
