August 2015: Yellowstone

Almost a year ago Ger invited me on a five day, four night backpacking trip into the wilds of Yellowstone, and I quickly accepted. He did all the work of obtaining the camping permits early in the year, to be sure to get the best spots. We were to be joined by his friend Mike, along with Ger an experienced Yellowstone backpacker. At the last minute Patti decided to join me for the drive over to Yellowstone (but not for the backpack), having scored a couple nights at the lodge at Old Faithful. She'd have to spend the other nights ensconced in our giant four-man tent, while I was out battling bears and bisons in the wilderness.
