November 2006: Botswana and South Africa

Earlier in the year my cousin Jon Stoddard made the mistake of inviting us to spend a bit of time with him at his home in Franschhoek, South Africa, and we took him up on it.  We also decided to add some wildlife viewing, and Jon added some outings, and it snowballed into a three week trip to Southern Africa.  First we booked a safari through Wildland Adventures, near us in Seattle, where Carmin did a wonderful job arranging our trip and finding places for us to stay.  This safari, which turned out to be the highlight of our trip (map above), was run by Wilderness Safaris.
