Along the way Thuto spotted an African rock python next to the road, always an opportunity for a little educational experience. We followed him out of the truck as he tried to pin it (all 10 feet) down with a stick. "Somebody grab its tail." So I did, for a moment at least, until Thuto lost control of the business end. After a bit more struggle, we got the poor fellow under control (and the snake too), and everybody that wanted to got their pictures taken. It was early in the evening when we drove up to our first "camp", Linyanti Tent Camp, where we were serenaded by the staff upon our arrival.
