I stashed my luggage at the Amsterdam airport lockers and took one of the frequent Keukenhof tourist buses to the spring flower show, arriving just as the show opened for the day. Apparently, if you can get to Keukenhof early morning or maybe late afternoon, the flower gardens are incredibly lovely for a stroll and pictures. If my flight had been later, then my excursion to Keukenhof might have been a totally different experience. The crowds seemed to be flooding in as fast as I could explore and by the time I left, around noon, it was shoulder to shoulder on all of the pathways.
Fleeing the crowds at Keukenhof, I returned to the airport for my luggage and to board a shuttle into the city. Sounds a bit convoluted, but going to and from Keukenhof via the airport is the most straightforward travel. Perfect Dutch efficiency.
