July 2006: New Hampshire
Another sad but fun trip to Randolph, this time for my Aunt Eleanor's memorial. Here are some random observations from the week: Ger gave a poetry reading in the Randolph library to an enthusiastic crowd, including the Poet Laureate of the Great North Woods. Insisting that bugs are only a "state of mind", Tom is maimed and nearly blood-drained by swarms of black flies on the Alpine Garden Trail, when he forgets to bring bug juice. Tom, Patti, and daughter-in-law and six month's pregnant Joelene do Dome Rock on a very hot day. Joelene scampers, we crawl.
