Dog's Breath Acres 2021

It was a long year that went by way too quickly. Here's Dog's Breath Acres, taken 1 January 2021:

In October we lost Daphne, our dearest friend, when her cancer finally caught up.  She had a fine 13 years, and was happy up to the very end, and so were we.  She was a wonderful presence at Dog's Breath Acres and on our daily walks, and was a rock for us during the pandemic.  We sure will miss her.  Click Here for a bunch of photos.

In January a middle-of-the-night storm knocked over one of our favorite trees, luckily missing the house.

Patti and I got our first vacinations in January, but I'm a little worried I got in the wrong line.

We had some record breaking heat in the summer, but found ways to cool off.

With the YMCA pretty much off limits due to Covid, and my near-daily walks not providing a whole lot of exercise, I finally broke down and bought myself an "Erg" (rowing machine), now firmly planted in the living room in front of the windows. And by December the Y finally opened up enough for me to get in a bit of weight lifting a few times a week.  And the walks continue; unfortunately no longer with Daphne's much-enjoyed company.

Patti kept busy with all sorts of online stuff.  These are some books she made from her book artists Zooming.  She also took part in a weekly New Yorker magazine article discussion group, a Zen meditation group, and a New Yorker book discussion group.  The Quails (Patti, Sue, Beri, and Judy) have been getting together for various art projects for almost 20 years now.  Click here for pictures of some of their work.

Kiara heads off to college for the first time.

She's adjusted to college life quite quickly.

Sienna took part in a demonstration at her high school.  She's second from the left, kneeling in front row.

Patti flew down to California with Sienna and Allison for a quick visit with Andra and Jennifer in Berkley.  They spent a weekend doing a little exploring in Oakland and San Francisco.  Click Here for a bunch of photos.

Besides Netflix, most of our entertainment has been provided by the birds, squirrels, and other critters outside our front windows.  Click here for more photos.

Our trailcam has also been busy, with coyotes passing by just about every night.  Click here for more photos.
