As we get older, the years seem to fly by even quicker. Here's our annual photo of Dog's Breath Acres, taken 1 January 2023:

At the begining of March Patti and I took a road trip down to Arizona for some hiking and scenery. Here's the report.
Once we were back from Arizona, we headed to the Everett shelter and picked up our newest family member, a mostly rat terrier, Charlie. He's about seven years old, and very sprightly. His previous owner had passed away and he ended up at the pound. He's very friendly with other people, but a terror with dogs. And squirrels and rats and (presumably) cats. Click here for some video of Charlie, and here for many more photos.
Over Christmas and New Year's, Patti flew down to Melbourne for a visit with old friends. Here are her pictures.
Plenty of critters ambled by our trailcam (located about 100 feet from the house), and some even came for a visit on the deck. At least four different bears showed up at our bird feeders, including one of the largest bears I've ever seen. He was big enough to reach up to our suet feeder and pull it down. We've had to take the feeders down for a few months. Click Here for more photos.
